Can you believe that 2019 is quickly coming to an end and a new decade is right around the corner? Now that Christmas is over, everyone is focusing on the new year and their New Year’s resolutions. I have compiled some tips on how to start the new year right, and truly become the best you that you can be!
Making New Year’s resolutions may seem like the best way to go into the new decade, but often we end up ditching those resolutions a few weeks in. It is important to note that you cannot change everything at once. People often try to change every aspect of their lives at the start of the new year and that is why resolutions don’t stick.
Try picking one area you want to improve on and set some small goals that will help you work towards that.
If your goal is to improve your health, try working out ten minutes a day to start. It may seem small, but it is doable and keeping that promise to yourself to devote ten minutes to exercising every day will build your confidence to tackle bigger goals.
Some other examples of small action steps could be cutting out soda, getting regular adjustments from your chiropractor, saying no to that extra dessert, or starting each day off with a healthy breakfast. None of these changes are that significant, but each of them will start to build and by the end of next year you will have a whole new lifestyle!
Be patient with yourself. Check-in at the beginning of every month to assess where you are and what needs to be adjusted to achieve those goals you made during the New Year.
Remember you don't need a new year or month or even week to start making better choices. You simply need to make the decision to do better the very next moment. Use every minute you have to become a better you!
Wishing you a happy and safe New Year!
